Day 12, 13, 14: Ugh!

Well, Thursday, before I left for Baton Rouge, I did do my P90X: Legs and Shoulders. It took everything in me but I completed it. I held off doing my crunches until today. I had a 1/2 protein bar for breakfast and some vegetables, coconut soup and spring rolls from Thai Cuisine. For dinner, my grandmother cooked Crawfish Etouffee, Peas and Carrots, Salad, Corn, and Rolls. I ate half of what I would usually eat including half of a roll. She made Rum Cake just for me so I had to have a small slice. Ive been eating healthy for almost 2 weeks now and so this food really just doesn't satisfy me like it used to. My sister and I stayed up and watched, The Proposal, so we got a little midnight munchie and I had 1/2 banana with peanut butter and some chocolate milk.
Friday, morning we had coffee with the grandparents, and then came the bad stuff. She made biscuits, grits, bacon, and scrambled eggs. I portion sized this but the bad stuff didnt come until later. Around 3 me and my sister were craving mexican. Uh oh! I ate a lot of chips and salsa... it gets worst. I limited myself to 2 fajitas. I went to whole foods and picked up my favorite high protein yogurts...but then found the cake balls and got 2 and some chocolate milk...do i need to continue ...this is why u never have a splurge on your life changing plan especially when you are only on week 2. I have been reminded of this and am very ashamed! I will really be kicking up my game now!
Friday was counted as my day of rest. I woke up Today feeling extremely lazy! I hate skipping a workout! I forced myself to do KenpoX and Abs X since I didnt do Abs on Thursday. I had a handful of slivered almonds to give myself energy before I started. I feel so much better after this workout. For lunch I made homemade chicken whole wheat noodle soup! (Recipe after this blog. ) Yum I have been really craving this and gumbo...so I opted for this! :) It was delicious and I had a jello indulgence cup after. Well I will be eating off of this soup for the next few days. I have work tonight and I will be starting week 3 tomorrow. Core Synergistics! Yea Baby can't wait to see more results my abs are getting a little flatter.

Recipe:

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons (2 turns around the pan) extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 medium carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 1 parsnip, peeled and chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 ribs celery, chopped
  • 2 bay leaves, fresh or dried
  • Salt and pepper
  • 6 cups good quality chicken stock
  • 1 pound (the average weight of 1 package) chicken breast tenders, diced
  • 1/2 pound wide egg noodles
  • A handful fresh parsley, chopped
  • A handful fresh dill, chopped

Directions

Place a large pot over moderate heat and add extra-virgin olive oil. Work close to the stove and add vegetables to the pot as you chop, in the order they are listed.

Add bay leaves and season vegetables with salt and pepper, to taste. Add stock to the pot and raise flame to bring liquid to a boil. Add diced chicken tenderloins, return soup to a boil, and reduce heat back to moderate. Cook chicken 2 minutes and add noodles. Cook soup an additional 6 minutes or until noodles are tender and remove soup from the heat.

Stir in parsley and dill, remove bay leaves and serve. This is a thick soup. Add up to 2 cups of water if you like chicken soup with lots of broth.

Day 11: No more sun salutations for me Thanks!

I woke up ready to go and really ready to get Yoga over with. The dvd did pass by faster than it felt like it did last week. I didn't forward through the dvd much, I only forwarded through the last 2 positions in the salutations. For breakfast I had a bowl of fruit (fresh pineapple, grapes, strawberries, and kiwi). For lunch I had a grilled chicken salad with peanut vinaigrette. I went to work and came home and had some sardines will multigrain townhouse crackers and sardines. I had some SF chocolate milk. I feel good and am extremely tired! Cant wait to hit the sack! Lets hope I don't sleep in, bc you guessed it, its raining!

Day 10: Never will sleep in again!

I always know when it is raining in the morning because I wake up and look at my alarm clock and I have slept in. I don't even remember my alarm going off and I set 3 alarms! I had an hour before class so I had Quaker Weight Control Cinnamon Oatmeal made with skim milk and 1 tsp of ground flax seed. This kept me full until I met with Anita at 1230. We went to Zea's and we split a chicken almond salad with the dressing on the side and I only ate one crispy noodle bc it accidently got in my salad ha.
When I finally finished school, I was exhausted. I knew I still had to workout but I had to get a little nap in. Well it ended up being an hour instead of the twenty minutes I planned...oops! I woke up and it took everything in me to workout because I was starving! So I took some advice and had a handful of almonds and a few cashews and started my workout! Today was Arms, Shoulders, and abs of P90X. I really do enjoy this workout. I stuck with mostly 10 lb. weights this week instead of switching a lot between 5 lbs. and 10. The abs, I could still only do 15, suck!! Oh well hopefully next time there will be an increase.
For dinner I had a handful of grapes and 2 scoops of Champion Nutrition Cookies and Cream Whey Protein Shake blended with skim milk and ice. I probably wont have a protein shake for dinner again because I feel full but I dont feel satisfied if that makes any since at all.
Also, I will never sleep in again because I forgot how much of a fight it is to workout in the evening.
Thursday and Friday I going to my grandmothers....and you all know what that means! She is going to cook amazing food and I can't not eat it because well she is Cecile Vizinat and you do not do that! She will end you and you will still have to eat after. I will be portioning my food and only eat a good portion size and the same goes with the ginormous breakfast she makes for me and my sister. Oh I am salavating just thinking about it, but aggravated bc I can't follow my diet to a T. No P90X on those days but I will be running Friday morning!
Night Everyone!

Day 9: Cardio cardio cardio

Day 9 has begun! I only slept in by 5 minutes today! I am getting better at this! I woke up, had my cup of joe, and put on my cardio x dvd. This is about 45 minutes long and really knows how to get my heart rate up! I feel like the DVDs this week are passing by so much faster now that I know what I am doing somewhat. It's amazing though when someone walks in on me doing my workout I completely forget what im doing. Thats why I get up at the butt crack of dawn!
For breakfast I had a cookies and cream champion nutrition protein shake made with skim milk! This was so good and I have a whole tub of it! I went to class and had lunch with Bekah at Deano's Pizza. I got the grilled shrimp salad, like always, with tomato basil vinaigrette and 1 1/2 little pieces of wheat french bread sprinkled with a little cheese. I was a little naughty and had 2 of Bekah's sweet potato fries; however, if you have ever had sweet potato fries from Deano's you would thoroughly understand! I stayed active all day running around, doing errands. I did buy a dress from Target and got a little discourage because no size reduction yet! Tip of the Day: Do not go clothes shopping until your present clothes are falling of your body!
For a snack I had some cashews and dipped some croutons in a little hummus. For dinner, I had 1/4 lb. of exta lean burger I grilled on the George Foreman Grill, a small light caesar vinaigrette salad, and some green beans. By the way learned in foods class that green beans are a fruit! That really sucks because I counted on those suckers as a veggie serving! Any who I ate that and had about a cup of SF chocolate milk and one of my indulgence jello cups. As you can tell I was a little hungry, I need to work on this a bit!
I had to go train for headwait tonight and didn't get back until 1130. I was a little hungry so I had 5 grapes and 2 strawberries and felt full! So now im going to bed because I am extremely exhausted, GOOD NIGHT!

Day 8, Week 2; More reps come on abs!

Day 8, Week 2... I feel like it should be long but its nice to have week 1 over with! I slept in today, and so I put my workout off until later in the day. My roommate is coming home and I had to scrub her house from top to bottom! Ugh! I pray that the soulmate God has for me is loaded so I can afford a maid. Haha! So, I counted that as my cardio workout today; clean the way Deidre wants you to clean and you will count it too! ;) Before I started to clean, I had 2 kashi blueberry waffles with honey drizzled over them and sugar free chocolate milk.
When lunch time rolled around, I had 1 1/2 hours before I had to start my workout; so I opted for an EAS chocolate peanut butter crisp low carb protein bar. I had that with a cup of milk and felt good after eating it. Today was core synergistics, I pushed out a great deal more reps than last weeks and really worked up a sweat this time. This is probably because I knew most of the moves and was able to start when they did. Great workout, and cant wait to feel the soreness tomorrow! (Never thought i'd say that!)
For dinner I had an Asian Chicken Salad, this contained: Mixed Greens, Carrots, Toasted Almond Slivers, Cucumber, Hemp Seed, Croutons, Steamed green beans, 4 oz of left over chicken from Carrabba's, and Newman's Own light Ginger Sesame Dressing. This was a really good salad and I will definitely be making it again! For dessert I had less than a cup of sugar free chocolate milk and the Dark Chocolate Jello Sensations Mousse Cup. Really good!
I have work tonight and when I get home I will have a yogurt but with no grapenuts tonight because I think I had enough carbs today! Until tomorrow my prettys!

PS Yesterday, I stuck to my diet at the restaurant, I did have a White Sangria and one piece of the bread, but I limited myself to one! Also, the greatest news of all! I turned down cake! Thats Right DANNI TURNED DOWN CAKE! It's a break through and never has been done! I'm not going to lie I did have a small bite, just to appreciate homemade german chocolate cake, but that was it! Hoorah, hopefully its the first of many great hurdles cleared!
PSS...I need a snuggie and want to have a snuggie party....that is all!

Day 6 & 7: Kenpo X Baby and REST! O yes!

Yesterday, I did Kenpo on P90X. This was by far my absolute favorite workout. I could do this workout everyday if I could! It' s full of kicks and punches and it really made me break out a sweat! I had to open so I couldn't get my run in; however, one Kenpo exercise and you will realize you don't have to run that day your heart rate is up for real during this workout! For breakfast, I had a EAS Cookies N Cream Protein Bar with 1 cup of milk. I absolutely love these protein bars, they are low carb, low sugar, low fat, and only about 200 calories making it a perfect meal replacer with milk added! For lunch I had a small slimntrim chocolate smoothie from smoothie king with diet down and made skinny. This tastes just like a tootsie roll! Yum! I had a Skyr Blueberry Yogurt at work for a snack and for dinner I had 4 oz of Rotisserie Pork Loin with Green Beans and sliced cucumber with italian dressing. I feel good and my great value pink lemonade little packets i've been adding to my water for dinner are really curing my sweet tooth!
Today, DAY 7, Finally! REST! Oh I love it! I slept in today and went to cafe des amis in breaux bridge! I got a tasso caramilized onion omelette made with egg whites and swiss cheese. It was served with grits and wheat toast. I ate half of my meal to make sure I was getting the right proportion. I had to have a cafe au lait before my breakfast and I did drink ALL of that! Delicious! For a snack I had a 60 calorie sugar free Jello Indulgence Mousse in dark chocolate. For lunch I had 1/2 turkey sandwich made with honey oat bread, pickles, lettuce, mustard and turkey. I ate this with about 9 pretzel honey mustard and onion nibbs. For a little sweetness I had 1/2 recipe of my Frozen Cappucinno.
I have a great deal to clean today in the house so I will be active! Tonight is Carrabba's for my friend's birthday. I will be getting the herbed grilled chicken with grilled veggies and a house salad 0r minestrone soup. I will be staying away from the bread, though I may allow myself one little piece and I may have a white sangria. I will report on what I ate exactly tomorrow.
I am definitely going to enjoy the rest of my day relaxing and truly relishing my day off! But its not over guys! It begins tomorrow again week 2 day 8 core synergistics baby!!

Day 5: Rain ruins everything!

Yesterday I didn't write because I literally had no time to workout. I was gone from the moment I woke up to the moment I went to bed. This just shows that everyone is going to have a day where they can't workout atleast it wasn't because I didn't want to. I did however eathealthy, I had a protein shake, chocolate peanut butter banana gladiator from smoothie king, and salmon green beans and 1/2 sweet potato for supper. I hope I never have to skip a workout again though because it was harder than hell to start my workout up again. Laziness is still living in me we must kill it!
Today began with me oversleeping an hour, great I had really had to rush now. I started with my morning crack ha and did P90X. Today was legs and backs and abs. I got really aggrevated because my roommate woke up and decided to watch me workout. I have to workout by myself, I just prefer it because othewise I dont get the crap done! So, I did this but I couldn't do the pullups because I couldn't find the pull up bar. I did this and completed more abs than last time! This stuff is working.
I didn't get to go run today because there was a monsoon in Lafayette, LA! Like for real, it was raining like in Jumanji, I was waiting for that huge crocodile to float down Johnston St.
This is what I ate today: Breakfast-Oatmeal with skim milk, Lunch-Slim N Trim Smoothie from Smoothie King with diet down splenda and gladiator protein powder. When I got to work I was starving so all I had to eat was 4 Saltine Crackers. It's amazing how you can be surrounded by food and not be able to eat anything. For dinner- Grilled Chicken Salad with pecan goat cheese.
I feel good about today! I really really can't wait for the results, day 6 tomorrow and ITS ON!

P.S. You know you are waiting on some seriously weird people when you greet the table with "Good Evening" and the answer, "What Up". Then, they ask if (bonefish grill) has an arcade . And lastly they ask for crayons, since you dont have an arcade, to draw on the paper on the table. What did they draw you ask. Well they wrote the word "F*ck" in huge bubble letters, a gigantic marijuana leaf, a girl with a big naked booty, and other foul things. Gotta love it! HA!

Day 4: Focus on your breathing, psh yeah right!

Day 4 began with me waking up and really feeling like an 18 wheeler carrying Mighty Joe Young ran over me! For real, the pain was so excruciating I had to take some ibuprofin, lets just pray my body adjusts fast. I started off with my routine cup of joe and decided to start with a run this morning. I speed walked/ran for 1 hour. I run for half a song and speed walk for the rest of the half plus a whole second song. My goal is to get back to running 1 whole song and even multiple songs by the end of the three months.
For breakfast I had a Labrada Lean Body Protein Shake for Women in Vanilla Millkshake Flavor. I have been drinking these for years now. I really like them and find that they get thick like a milkshake when I blend them with fat free milk and ice (which i did.) When I got back from class. I did my P90X Yoga. Ok, in the P90X handbook it recommends that if you focus on your breathing and not on the awkwardness and the straining you will perform this yoga better. No problem, got this! Negative ghost rider. We started and I was surprisingly really getting into it and then we went hit the 30 minute mark of only doing positions and I lost all interest. I have this little thing called ADD and it is really hard on someone who can barely sit through an entire movie much less an hour and a half of yoga but I knew I had to do this. Remembering the books recommendation I was trying to clear my mind. All I could think about was moving on to the next move but all we seemed to be doing were downward dog based moves, yuck! So, I copped out and forwarded it to the balance section. I don't feel too bad about this since this workout is 1 hour and 30 minutes long! This is crazy but I will not be forwarding through it every time. I did the balancing portion, the ab portion, and my favorite the breathing relaxing portion, it really was an amazing workout except that the beginning felt as long as the ice age!
I met with my friend, Anita, for lunch at cafe lola and had a little more than half of a TLC sandwich on delicious squaw bread. This bread is dark brown and like eating a cloud as my cousins say when they are eating little debbie red velvets. I believe its ok if I use this description since it is healthy for you verses their spare tire forming snack cakes. Anyway, the sandwich had avocado, tomato, sprouts, cucumber, turkey, and provolone. It is delicious and I got apples with it with lime juice squeezed on them, this is a great tip for keeping your apples from turning brown without effecting the taste. I felt full after this and was glad i stopped myself from eating the whole thing, I was a little disappointed I didn't stop when I felt satisfied but I had only eaten half of a half sandwich and half my apple slices. Oh well...
When I got home from class and errands, I was hungry so I had a kelloggs fiber bar. I love these because they take a great deal of added sugar, add almonds, and make it with dark chocolate! Delicious and 35% of daily fiber. I had to make my scratch chocolate chip cookies and was really scared I was going to cheat! But I didn't, Mr. Willpower and I are really starting to hit it off.
For dinner, I had 3 oz of boneless skinless chicken breast with BBQ sauce, and 1 cup of left over chili. I felt satisfied but I really had a sweet tooth so I made my frozen sugar free fat free frappe. Heres how you make it:
Sugar Free Vanilla Cappucino Mix about 3 tsps
7 ounces of skim milk
1 tbsp of splenda
8 ice cubes
Blend until smooth and enjoy
It really tastes like a frappucino except way less calories. It only has about 120 calories! woop woop! who is you auntie?!?!?!
Oh by the way I threw out the brussel sprouts, there was no way I was eating those again, wimp I know.
Again my bed and I have rekindled our romance and I am ready to go cuddle with my long lost love. Day 5 begins tomorrow and lets pray that that giant gorilla doesnt decide to leave that 18 wheeler that ran me over last night and do a tap dance on my body for me to feel the effects in the morning. Night!

PS gravity works on water too, so if you are holding a cup of water in your arms and the wind decides to blow some of your mail away dont bend down to pick it up expecting your water to stay in the cup. Gravity will suck that out like a kid drinking chocolate milk and spewing it all over your mail. That is all!

Day 3: Appetite is Suppressing!

Day 3, a very interesting day! I woke up and realized I couldn't do my workout this morning because I have been without a car all weekend and needed to go get my battery! Pain in the butter cup! I still had my cup of joe and started my day with Cinnamon Weight Control Oatmeal, I added milled flax seed and made it with skim milk. I also had 1/2 cup of sugar free chocolate skim milk. I sat down to eat and i could only eat a little more than half!!! Crazy, but I am all about that! For lunch I had a grilled shrimp salad from Deano's with a fat-free vinaigrette. I also had a piece of wheat cheese bread. Delicious!
I felt extremely exhausted today! You know when you wake up and the first thing that crosses your mind is the next time you get to cuddle with your bed! This is terrible I felt like little foot from Land Before Time...separated from my family! haha So as soon as I got out of class I needed a nap, I took an hour nap when I got home and woke up and knew it was time to get busy. Only one problem, there is a reason I always work out in the morning... because when I wait until the afternoon Mr. Willpower goes away, never a good thing. So as I laid in bed debating the workout you guys crossed my mind and I got myself out of bed.
I lied last post, yoga wasn't today it was abs, chest and arms. I did this portion of P90x with 5-10 lb dumbbells (when tony switched to 25's I switched to 5's and when he went heavier i switched to 10's) My goal today was 14 reps of each exercise and I met that. When it came to ab ripperx I felt like a pansy. They were doing sets of 25 and I could only do 12-15, tony says this is normal but its still frustrating.
For dinner I had a small Gladiator smoothie from smoothie king because I wasn't that hungry. I put peanut butter and raspberry in it with added diet down. It was yummy and I also had some almonds with it. All in all I am still sore and still get disappointed when I look in the mirror but time will tell. Until tomorrow, my prettys, Danni's transformation will continue!

Day 2: Get that heart rate up!

Day 2, im not feeling any temptations but it still feels like I should be on day 50...psh not even close! I find myself looking at my stomach in the mirror and not seeing any results and getting bummed and then I get a quick reminder that I am only on day 2 and these things do not happen over night! Sucks I know! I am definitely sore and have a hard time walking up the stairs of my house; however, I do feel very energized and not weighed down.
This morning I had my cup of coffee before I began the Cardiovascular portion of P90x (with skim milk and splenda of course.) I started the dvd and Tony began warming up with YOGA!!! My thoughts are: Never done yoga before, but piece of cake just some fancy stretch- like moves... right? right? WRONG! This was the hardest part of the whole workout for me, it was fast paced and i felt like it was never going to end... but I endured it and cant wait until it will be super easy for me! The rest of the dvd was awesome and I worked up a good sweat. After P90x, I went running and did it for 30 minutes, since the dvd was 45 minutes long I thought 30 minutes was really all that was needed. I felt great and rejuvenated when I got home, but was really feeling those X-squats!
For lunch, I had a small bowl of chili and 2 pretzels with lots of water. I felt satisfied after the meal surprisingly because honestly, it was a SMALL bowl of chili and I didnt think it was going to satisfy me because my stomach has not shrunk yet. But I ate slow and was content at the end... praise God! I did get hungry 3 hours later which is completely normal...for a snack I had a handful of raw almonds(about 12). For supper, I had 1/2 boneless skinless chicken breast (about 3.5 oz) marinated the same as last night , 1/2 sweet potato ( i chop it up with skin on since most of the vitamins are in the skin and mix in skim milk, a drop of butter extract, cinnamon, a pinch of splenda brown sugar, and a sprinkle of nutmeg) delicious, try it!, and some Brussels sprouts. Note: I have never had brussels sprouts before but they looked interesting so i thought i'd dive in. Verdict: I used the steam-in-bag frozen so I dont know if they are suppose to taste different but they reminded me of very mushy broccoli so I only ate like 5 of them but I will eat the rest in the next few days! blah! I got home at 11:00 from work so it was time for a snack. I had some Siggi's Skyr Yogurt in Pomegranate Passion fruit flavor and mixed in less than a 1/4 cup of grape nuts.
I am very tired and love how easy I fall asleep! After this my head is hitting that pillow! I missed being able to fall asleep easy when you work out...motivation #2! Goodnight everyone! Day 3 begins tomorrow, Yoga time, scary! I know!

P.S. I've decided that I am going to learn the Single Ladies dance by Beyonce. In fact I imagine myself doing it when im running another great idea by Danni... I caught myself doing a move or two and using my hips big time... I wonder what the drivers on Camellia think about this... probably the same thing my audience that witnessed my talk rapping thought...haha I suck at life!

Day 1: Engage the Core

One down...89 to go! Not very encouraging when you think of it that way! Lets think of it as only 89 days left verses 365 days of torment if you don't do this...I will take my 89 thank you! Ok so the day started out good I got to sleep(9 AM) in and awoke to a beautiful morning and amazing weather! Perfect weather for running *hint*hint*!
I started my day off with a 1 cup of coffee with skim milk and splenda. After I finished my cup I put in Core Synergistics of P90X at 10 AM... I have tried to start P90x before, so this exercise was nothing new to me. It did, however, bring a huge realization that I have gotten really out of shape. This is a fun workout though and Tony tells you to pay attention to your muscles as you are doing the moves which is always very important. And believe me I am feeling it right now (rip muscles rip!)! After I finished P90x at 11 AM,I went running/speed walking but focused mainly on speed walking since I could really focus on my core! I walk with my abs when I speed walk. This means you tighten your abs so that every stride you take enables you to feel each and every one. I did this for 1 hour and had a nice stretch and a huge glass of water when I got in.
By the time I finished my shower it was 1210 and time for lunch. I had a Chicken breast salad with 1 tbsp of light ranch that I put on the side. The chicken breast was 2 boneless skinless tenders that I marinated in worcestershire and a little tony's and then grilled it on my George Foreman. My salad consisted of a bowl of Herb Green Salad Mix with carrots, cucumbers, 1 tbsp of hemp seed (hemp seed helps connect proteins correctly), and 5 croutons for some crunch (croutons are only 4g carbs for a 1/2 cup serving and 5 is not even 1/4 of a cup so I think were pretty safe here! ha) It was very good and I was satisfied and felt energized after eating it.
I worked tonight at Bonefish Grill, so didn't get home until 11:30. I was starving by then especially since I only ate a small piece of pineapple at work (I forgot my almonds at home)! This is not the way to go guys always make sure you bring some nuts or some dried fruit to work with you so you can have some kind of snack. Going 11 hours without eating is not healthy at all, I do not encourage this. So since it was so late I opted for some low fat no sugar added yogurt. This yogurt is similar to greek yogurt but is call skyr yogurt. Its very tart and but I like it. It is a little more expensive but to have 120 calories and 18 grams of protein who cares! Anywho, I added 1/4 cup of grape nuts to it for texture and since i basically had no carbs today *grape nuts have a lot of fiber and made with whole wheat flour...hoorah! Then I had one very large kiwi... I feel good and dont feel like I overate or underate.
All together I think today was a great Day 1! I have decided on my reward for the week and that is if I finish out this whole week I can buy the new Mayday Parade CD that has just come out! Believe me I need some new workout music!
Ok guys, My dogs are barking (learned this today supposedly it means your feet are hurting ha) and I am hitting the sack! Good Night Everyone! Day 2 starts tomorrow, hope I can walk!

P.S. By the way Never Ever EVER sing or rap out loud when you are running or walking...People are always around and they will spot you and look at you like you are a crazy loon who is talking to themselves! Especially if you are like me talk rapping(this means you pronounce every syllable and be as white as you can talking a rap song) Ludacris' Song Get Back! Haha doesnt sit well with the kids ya mean!

Here We Go Again!

OK,Guys so here we go! My name is Danni and I am 21 years old. I have struggled with my weight pretty much my whole life. Before my 7th grade year, I was a zero the summer before 7th grade I got really depressed and ate Little Debbie snacks and laid in bed watching Disney Movies all summer. I went from a size 0 to a size 9 that summer. I kept that weight on all the way until I graduated high school. On my senior trip I went with my best friend to the beach and had never been so upset and insecure with my body before! They wanted to walk the beach and I was too ashamed, so I remained where I was and cried on the beach vowing when I got back I would lose it.
I started my first weight loss in October 2006 @ size 10-12 and weighed 140 ( I am 5'3 1/2 by the way) . I worked out 5-6 days a week and limited my portion sizes, and was extremely Nazi about what i ate. It was hard at first but I wanted to be skinny like all my friends and was tired of never being noticed and sick of being the big one. After one month I was on a roll and the pounds began to walk off. I was do walking/running intervals 45 minutes- 1 hour every day and lifting weights as well as crunches. In February I finally weighed in and I was 110. I couldn't believe I was a zero again...I would grab a zero pair of jeans at the store in disbelief, there was no way these were going to fit...and they did!
I kept it off, until I moved to Lafayette in January 2008. Let me explain Lafayette, LA. These people live to eat. Not eat to live, which is what I taught myself to do and grew accustomed to it! The pounds began to creep on even though I remained working out and eating right. I just would splurge once a week instead of never. I eventually began to not work out everyday and now work out maybe once to twice a week. I went from a 0 to 2 to a 4 to a 6 to today's 10-12. I have gained all my weight back now and have never been so humiliated!
OK so, here is what I have learned from going from Fat to skinny and back to fat. People always judge a book by its cover, even your friends. Sadly, some people that have great bodies and are beautiful people will only befriend people that look like them. This is upsetting when girls that used to invite me places with them will not give me the time of day now. Just because I put on some weight! Also, I went from no guy attention, to all these guys asking me on dates, to absolutely no guy attention yet again! This as you can imagine really takes its toll on a girl! It makes me angry because I haven't changed any, just my weight , but that's life so this can be motivation #1. Also, never listen to any one's criticism... a lot of people called me anorexic however I ate more than most of them and when you turn people's bad food down... don't listen to their comments of "You can eat it every once in a while." If you are like me, once in a while is not an option I cannot just eat something bad once in a day and just workout more...my mindset is i screwed up the day and so i might as well go crazy!
So here is the game plan. I NEED to lose weight because its making me ashamed to see my family and friends so I am missing out on life...and all because of food! FOOD! Something that is supposedly comforting yet makes you the most uncomfortable, it is the enemy when taken the wrong way therefore shall not be my friend but my aid in helping me reach my goals and strengthen my body! I will be blogging daily for 90 days! Why 90 days? Well I will be doing P90X as well as running/walking intervals for 1 hour daily. I will report on how I feel each day and what I consume. This is going to be my motivation and hopefully it will encourage some of you to make a lifestyle change. I, also, need to do this because I'm going to school to be a dietitian and no one wants an unhealthy looking dietitian... kind of an oxymoron. Each week I will have a reward and each month I will have a bigger reward. I will not have food rewards I will, however, have a "splurge" once a week but a healthy one. Whether that be Whole wheat cinnamon toast one morning for breakfast or a cookies and cream protein shake from Planet Nutrition.... all my rewards will not technically affect my diet in any way.
One more thing, I will also be posting some recipes. When I first lost weight I really missed home cooked foods and certain foods that I loved... I was able to take those foods and make them really healthy and lifestyle change friendly and I will post those as I make them for you all to make at home too. They are all quick and easy most of them taking less than 30 minutes to make and are made with a lot of pantry staples. So here we go its going to be an interesting 90 days and I cannot wait for my results! Day 1 starts tomorrow and Mr. Will Power will be my friend at the end of this!
